AI Rap Video FAQ

RapWorks turns two photos into a lip-synced rap duo video in about one to three minutes. The beta is free — two renders per IP, no account and no card — and every render includes rapped vocals, a backing track, a beat and a watermark-free 9:16 MP4. Uploaded photos are not stored beyond 24 hours, failed renders do not use up your allowance, and paid plans are not on sale yet. This page collects every answer from across the site.

Getting started

What RapWorks is, what it runs on, and what you need before your first render.

What is RapWorks?

RapWorks is a scene store for AI rap videos. You browse a catalog of sets (the room you perform in) and scenes (why you are performing), pick one, upload one clear face per performer, add your names and the occasion, and the AI renders a 9:16 clip with rapped vocals, a backing track and lip-sync. It runs in the browser, with no app and no editing software.

What is the scene store?

The scene store is the catalog at /scenes. It has two layers: four sets — an orange lobby booth, a luxury hotel lobby, a studio booth and a street cypher — and eight scenes such as the viral lobby-booth trend, a birthday roast, a couple duet, a friendly battle, a pet duo, a small-business promo and a Christmas verse. The same two photos can be rendered in any scene, and new scenes are added regularly.

Can I request a scene that is not in the store?

Yes. Both the store page and every scene page link to a request form. Tell us the scene you want and, optionally, an email for updates. Requests are counted by demand, and the most-requested ideas are built first — that is how the catalog grows.

How does RapWorks make the video?

The two reference photos guide a reference-to-video model from the Seedance 2.0 family, which generates the performance and the audio together. You supply the photos and a short cue; the model handles the scene, the delivery, the beat and the mouth movement. RapWorks supplies the studio around it — stages, quotas and downloads.

Do I need an account, an app or a card?

None of them. The beta has no sign-up, no login and no app to install; it runs in a browser on desktop or mobile. Each IP address gets two free renders, so you can judge the output before handing over an email address, let alone a card number.

How long does a render take?

Usually one to three minutes, depending on the queue and the quality tier. Quick is the fastest because it is 8 seconds at 480p, while HD takes longer and uses both free renders. Keep the result page open until the video appears and then download the MP4.

What do I need before I start?

Two photos — one face per upload slot — plus a scene from the store and one short line with both names and the occasion. Permission from everyone in the photos is required. That is the whole checklist: no script, no recording, no editing timeline, and no need to be a rapper.

Photos and likeness

The upload decides most of the result. These are the rules and the red lines.

What makes a good couple photo for an AI rap video?

Two separate, clear, front-facing shots work better than one couple selfie: each upload slot needs a single face. Avoid sunglasses, heavy filters and harsh side light, and use photos taken within the last year or two so the likeness is current and recognisable.

What photo should each friend send?

A clear, front-facing photo with even light and no sunglasses. Avoid group photos, screenshots and heavy filters — the upload slot expects one face. Photos where the face takes up a good part of the frame give the model the cleanest reference and the strongest likeness.

What is the best pet photo for an AI rap video?

Head-on, in focus, with both eyes visible and the whole face in frame. Daylight or a well-lit room beats flash. Avoid action shots, extreme close-ups of a nose, and photos where the face is partly hidden by fur, a toy or furniture.

Can I upload a photo of someone who has not agreed?

No. Every photo must be of an adult who has consented to their likeness being used in a generated video. Uploading someone else's photo to make a joke at their expense is against the terms, and it is the fastest way to turn a fun format into a real problem for you and for them.

Can I use photos of children?

No. RapWorks is an 18+ product and does not accept photos of minors, even with a parent's permission. Birthday videos should use adult photos only. The rule exists because generated likenesses of children carry risks that this product is not built to manage.

Video, quality and formats

What comes out of the render, and what you can do with the file.

What do I get at the end?

A vertical 9:16 MP4 with rapped vocals, a backing track and lip-sync, ready to post. Quick is 480p and 8 seconds, Standard is 480p and 10 seconds, and HD is 720p and 10 seconds. Every download is watermark-free, including during the beta.

What format and aspect ratio is the video?

Every render is a vertical 9:16 MP4 — the native shape for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Stories — and it is watermark-free. You download it directly from the result page. There is no project file, no timeline and no export settings to choose before you post.

What are Quick, Standard and HD?

Quick is 8 seconds at 480p, Standard is 10 seconds at 480p, and HD is 10 seconds at 720p. All three include vocals, a backing track, lip-sync and a watermark-free MP4. During the beta, Quick and Standard use one free render and HD uses two, so test with Quick first.

Can I choose the beat or write the lyrics?

Not line by line. You set the names and the occasion, and the model writes and performs the vocal over a generated beat. The stage preset sets the scene and the mood. Short, specific context produces a more personal result than a long description or an artist reference.

Beta and payments

The honest version of the pricing model, including what is not for sale.

How much is a video?

Your first video is free. After that a single video is $6.99, a three-video Duo pass is $14.99 ($5.00 a video) and a ten-video Crew pass is $39.99 ($4.00 a video). There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically.

Can I buy right now?

Checkout is not open yet. Until it is, the free video is the only thing you can use, and the early-access list gets first access to the launch price. Nothing on this site can charge you today.

Do the passes expire?

No. A pass is a number of videos, not credits with an expiry date. Buy three, use one now and two next month — the remaining videos are still there. Paid videos render at 720p; the free video renders at 480p.

Who processes the payment and the tax?

A merchant of record will handle checkout and sales tax or VAT at the point of sale, so the price you see includes the tax that applies to your country. The payment provider is announced on this page when checkout opens.

Privacy, consent and posting

What happens to your photos, and what you can safely publish.

How long do you keep my photos?

Uploaded photos are used to render your video and are not stored beyond 24 hours. We do not use them for advertising or resale. Treat the upload like any other photo you send to an online service: use a clear portrait rather than a document or a photo you would not share anywhere.

Can I post or sell the videos I make?

You can post the videos you generate, including on business accounts, as long as you have the rights to every photo, name and detail you upload. Do not sell the clip as stock footage or pass it off as a real performance. Keep the AI nature of the video clear to viewers.

Do I have to tell people the video is AI-generated?

Yes. Say it in the caption or on-screen text. It is honest, it keeps the comments focused on the joke, and major platforms now expect synthetic media to be labelled. Disclosure also keeps you clear of rules about impersonation and misleading content.

Can I make a video about a real artist or celebrity?

No. Do not use real artists' names, likenesses, logos or music videos to imply an endorsement, a collaboration or a recreation. RapWorks is not affiliated with any artist, label or television show. The stages are AI-generated styles, not recreations of any music video.

Still deciding?

The honest summary: the beta is a real product with a two-render allowance, not a demo. If your photos are clear and you pick a scene that matches the occasion, the first or second render is usually postable. If the faces read wrong, the fix is nearly always the photo, not the model.

Read the guides for the photo checklist, the scene store to pick a look, and the pricing page for exactly what the free beta includes.
